On the very rare occasion, I've noticed that some jeans are actually made where the fly opens up to right, instead of the left. I've always wondered why some jeans are made this way, I just assume it's made with left-handed people in mind, since that would make it more convenient for the left-handed with the actual zipper usage. It seems very rare that you ever see jeans like this, but once in a while I notice them.
Anyone know some jeans like this?

Hey look in the mirror that person looking back at you is wearing the fly zipper on the wrong side ! That could be the reason for the design - the manufacturers tailor/seamstress when making/copying the fashion item was making the pattern in a reverse image off the mirror. Or maybe like womens fashions where someone else i.e. a chamber maid dressed the person and it was convenient to have uniform dressing protocol. You will not find mens clothing this way with the zipper opening to the left. Only in women's wear is this common or some childrens clothing. I have four jeans with the left opening zipper; two bought most recently from Chicos. I also have jeans zipping on the left side and a few with the back center seam. Those zipping on the side and back do not have a defined fly placket just a simple zipping hidden in a seam. A smooth uncluttered effect which I like - tends to create the appearance of no zipper like an elastic pull-on pant. Unless you have some dexterity problems with zippers and buttons zipping on the side opposite of what you are accustomed to it is not that hard to zip up and go about life. Side and Back zippers do take some getting used to but really no biggie deal ! For someone who is detail motivated - wearing clothing with a slightly different styling can be like Sherlock Holmes defining everything about that wearer ! "Very Interesting" ! For examples go to Chicos.com and view the jeans - also at NewYork& Co - Links below: www.chicos.comwww.nyandcompany.comLeft or Right I love my jeans ! k/s/s

Most women tops open the opposite of men's, Compare dress shirts, or polo tops. As mentioned, that is sometimes the only difference. Jeans that have girl side fly's are rare.

Re: women's tops - if you look closely the button; zipper open placket is designed opposite of the male looking counterpart. When looking at the buttons they are usually smaller (petite) and there are more of them. Re: Left side zipping - the trend is as noted "rare" - reason is having to reprogram the sewing machines (pattern) to mass produce the jean garment. Allowing for low rise pants the zippers can vary in length but still can be either right or left sided depending on who they are marketed to. The difference in the fitting is all in the anatomy being covered - the hips have to be big enough to prevent London britches from falling down where the Thames - jeans waist narrows going under that bridge. (Clean sexual reference). Baggy crack showing pants are on their way out to the denim recycle rag pile. The latest trending is with the elastic lycra pants - yoga pants - leggings - jeggings (leggings with pocket faux or otherwise) not to be confused with tights or UK pantyhose. The simple slip on pants with or without embellishments - pockets - belt loops - faux zipper closings and detailing at the hem (ankle) zipper - closing left or right not required. The drifting toward uni-sex clothing has almost always been in the background. Wearing basic black covers most all aspects of clothing - it is when one ventures into the NEON PINK pastels that sparks a fashion frenzy ! So much for fashion protocol 101 !

I notice the reversal zipper in women's slacks, I own several and most have the zipper fly to the left.
