Many apologies for being quiet all this time. It has been a while since I've been able to post.
I was just wondering if anyone had a preference for a particular type of underwear to go with their jeans? Is your choice based on habit, utility, or comfort?
I've been starting to explore the world of thongs. I'm kind of drawn to them for two reasons: (1) for purely technical reasons, the lack of VPL when wearing skin tight leggings is desirable. But I'm also intrigued by (2) the allure of something that might feel more sensual than the usual support brief.
I'm also curious to see how they affect the infamous "battle of the bulge." Sometimes I wonder if the best answer for that might be a dance belt.

No apologies necessary - any comments posted are welcome. Not everyone is taken to the task of being a prolific poster and keeping this forum up and running.
Wearing of the other side of aisle clothing does have some interesting side effects. The underpinnings - with the lighter fabric weight maybe even somewhat sheer wearing heavy "Y" fronts the outline may show thru the pants in a non fashionable way. Therefore the thong may be the answer or a light weight sheer panty. The battle of the bulge is predicated on the endowment of the wearer. In some cases the concealment is an easy application and yet in others think along the lines of mission impossible with trickery padding tucking etc. The ease in the crotch is a factor that must be considered - when tailors make pants for the male it is factored in - for the female the factor is not an issue. Thus the crotch fitting makes the coverage angle a problem. An extreme example would be wearing an athletic cup with jock strap with no way to conceal the protective mode. RE: that dance belt is a condensed version of this - if you note the male ballet performer - this is not much of coverage/concealment issue but more of getting the male equipment out of harms way with the physical activity of dancing with the female half - the family jewels do not take well to collisions in movement.
So one thing for certain you are a GUY wearing Girly pants and it will be obvious not overly so but with no pockets reverse fly or side/rear zipper closing and then the tight fitting leg with the pant hem being at or above the ankle - this is not the normal guy wear. With tights leggings jeggings you want minimal VPL or other obvious features concealed so light weight sheer panties THONGS or even buck naked would be an option. At this time of the year in the northern hemisphere - winter has come a calling take care of not freezing and tight clothing is not conducive to keeping things warm worn singularly - also avoid liquid spills revealing just how sheer those girly clothes are and what lies beneath or within ! Darker colors are better at concealment denim perhaps the best overall.
On the utility front careful what you wear in having to use the loo - being too restrictive may result in needing the stall instead of the stand-up urinal.
Experiment around you will find what does the best job.

Wearing of the other side of aisle clothing does have some interesting side effects. It does. You don't realize how much you miss pockets! :-) There's a recent YouTube video about the "Try Guys" wearing girl's clothes and trying to solve the lack of useful pockets problem. Their take on purse shopping is eye opening. But now that cooler weather has arrived, I can use my jacket to store the triumvirate: wallet, cellphone, and keys (why do we still need keys in this modern age?) Summer time is harder, although the back pockets in my jeans are good enough for the cell phone and a minimal wallet (no more carrying business cards, receipts, or loyalty cards). The underpinnings - with the lighter fabric weight maybe even somewhat sheer wearing heavy "Y" fronts the outline may show thru the pants in a non fashionable way. Therefore the thong may be the answer or a light weight sheer panty VPL is, indeed, another problem. Although I gave up Y-fronts a long time ago, I kind of went in two directions at once: non-fly support briefs for the weekends and boxer-briefs for the daily grind. Although you have to be looking for it, you can see the outlines of both (usually at the hip) under the clothing I like to wear. The choice of underwear is also predicated on the fact that many of us guys are bashful about our bulges. Trying to be "modest" is very difficult and I'm slowly realizing that this may be a losing battle. What woman tries to hide their breasts? But because cod-pieces have not returned to the fashion scene, we need to find other alternatives. The long shirt is an option---if you can find it! Most guy's shirts end at the waist. I have a very few t-shirts which (barely) make it to the crotch, so I've kind of given up on that path. In trying to think about this logically, either I try to hide my bulge or I try to shape it. In the "hiding" department, I have never successfully "tucked." Various accounts I've read involve a gaff and/or tape and some time trying to gently locate the places from which my testicles descended. This has---thus far---been a lot of work (and discomfort) for a day's outing where I'm not actively trying to pass as female (which would be like a giraffe trying to pass for a swan in my case). So this puts me in the "shaping" category. Going commando is also not really an option for me. I'm not that big, but, without containment, the outline is---let's just say I'd rather show the outline of my underwear. I've never tried panties and, although I'm not averse to trying them, I'm not sure I'd get the support I'd like. Plus, wouldn't the leg finishing have the same issue as men's briefs? I have worn a dance belt before for this purpose and---like thongs---that strap which actually makes contact with your perineum seems to take a little getting used to. But the confinement and lack of VPL is much closer to what I may be looking for. I did think about a cup, but wouldn't that accentuate what I'm trying to make modest?
At this time of the year in the northern hemisphere - winter has come a calling take care of not freezing and tight clothing is not conducive to keeping things warm worn singularly... Although I am certainly in agreement that the more air you can trap around you the warmer you will be, winter does not bring leggings season to a close unless you live where it gets well below freezing. I think I'm ok in a single layer of a thicker material down to about 5C. As we sink to lower temperatures, an underlayer of thicker tights works well for me. the added compression also feels really nice. Much below -5C and I think most of us are limiting our time out doors no matter what we're wearing. On the utility front careful what you wear in having to use the loo - being too restrictive may result in needing the stall instead of the stand-up urinal. This may be TMI, but I've always had a bashful bladder. So.... there's ever only been one choice for me. Experiment around you will find what does the best job. That's the plan! I will report back what I learn.

Experimenting around - if the ankle of the pant is going to fit tight and high on the ankle consider wearing ankle boots or calf high boots. The waist fitting causing revealing problems of one sort or another consider wearing a tunic top or below length waist sweat athletic shirt this especially if the fabric is sheer transparent. Elastic waist fitting pants are best - simple pull on slide off. Although pants with belt loops and a belt redirect the view point especially with contrasting detail or a flashy belt buckle. While winter clothing the ole never wear WHITE after Labor day rule doesn't mean as much these days - still yet the light colors at a time when there are dirty snow falls and road crap plowed asunder watch that you are not marked with pants ready for laundry - watch what you lean up against or sit in. NO pockets or pockets that are minimal of use consider a clutch or perhaps a cross body bag to carry the essentials unless plastics are us is the useful spending mode you entertain - wearing a jacket over the ensemble creates pocket pouches keeping the panted body lines smooth.
Putting together your wardrobe package is not all that difficult - the more you have the more you have to play around in experimenting ! There is forum where one of the members signs "I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman"! Not so much dresses or skirts but simply minimal uncluttered smooth lines showing the anatomy in it's pure form with the essentials carried off hand.

If there's a bulge, OH WELL! We should have to hide our bulges anymore then woman trying to hide their breasts!

First and foremost, I'm glad that kiltskortskirt, jon, jeansqueen, denimclad, and everyone have been keeping this forum alive. It's a great place to chat with all of us non-conformists and keep up with all the fun clothing choices we might not normally notice. Second, congratulations to kiltskirtskort on the promotion to admin. I like what you've done with the place. May the spammers all slink away to their respective darknesses and may all the creative clothing advocates find this board. Third, apologies for being away. As I said in my last post, my SO isn't as actively positive about my choice of legwear, so I've just been feeling kind of depressed about that. When she went to a conference, I spent the weekend in jeggings and a UA "cold gear" top and couldn't believe how much I missed the soft compression and freedom of movement they provide. I got looks (as any non-conformist will attract); some good, some bad. I even went for a haircut and noticed that the stylist's hands were trembling a little! But it was a great weekend and I wish I had a little more support. I'm not a fan of the spotlight, so I'm always nervous when attracting attention. So I understand everyone's looking to places like Quora to find support and reassurance. But after almost three decades of wearing tights and leggings in public (even red leggings on a cross-country flight!) I've gotten more compliments than derision (and the worst of that was in a gym!). If you like wearing girl's jeans or jeggings, you definitely should "Just do it." You need nobody's blessing. So I did want to reply to a few posts: I love my thongs with my girl jeans, holds my jewels nicely with no VPL, and we can't have that can we?!
If there's a bulge, OH WELL! We should have to hide our bulges anymore then woman trying to hide their breasts!
JQ Can I ask what brand? I've tried a few pair and just haven't found truly comfy ones. I may next try on something like a butt-lifting jock (even taking collagen regularly seems to be no match for father time). You would be a UK 14 Using the rule of 20 i.e. your waist of 32 inches is (32-20=12) a USA size 12 or UK 14 So, last I measured, my actual waist size is about 36". That means I typically wear a men's size 34 slacks. But I've found I usually fit very comfortably in a US junior's 9. The juniors sizing is better because my hips are about the same circumference as my waist. ...maybe tis the season no that my wife is more forgiving with regards to allowing me to wear girls jeans. I'm trying to learn how best to respond to one's SO being non-committal. Any advice? By the way, those Dorinha jeans look great, but at $100 a pop... yikes.
Hi, I'm new here, it's interesting to see the different ways the guys here like to wear their women's jeans. I like to wear women's Levi 711 skinny jeans at the moment but I'm open to suggestions on anything that's similar.
jon, those 711s look amazing on you. You have the enviable thigh gap. In light of this thread, might I ask what your underwear preference is? Anyway, I hope 2020 is a happier, healthier, and a more clothing-friendlier year for all of us!

Hi, sorry about the late reply things are slow around here, I didn't get notified... I always wear a mans thong under my girl jeans, I find it holds everything in place no bunching of fabric etc, and looks neat. I buy them from the Debenhams store here in Ireland a size smaller the usual, and that makes for a snug but comfortable fit that I find makes the jeans look good, nice and neat, no massive bulge or bits sticking out!! Thats how I like the front to look. Comfortable and secure all day. I can wear the 711 jeans nice and tight without any issues.

Hi š Iām a new member š I have been wearing womenās underwear long before I started wearing womenās jeans. That being said, in the last 2 1/2yrs I have switched back to guyās underwear because there is now a huge selection on Amazon. I love to wear thong and Amazon have tones of menās thongs in every size, color, style and fabric you can imagine. After much trial and error, with a 34ā waist, I wear a L, XL and sometimes XXL. I donāt find the thong part comfortable when it is tugging too muck. For the most part all underwear is returnable so you arenāt out any money and can order the next size up. I really like Musclemate Cheeky bikini in 2XL. Just search Cheeky Bikini. The back is very minimal but not a thong. I LOVE ā¤ļø wearing those. Also iKingski make a very cheeky boy short that is supper curt and comfy. It is more thong feeling but cheeky boy short looking. I buy that in a medium because it is so stretchy. I also wear string bikinis made in cotton.
The womenās underwear was fun and very taboo and supper exciting to go buy. I always conferred with the sales woman and never had a bad experience. It was fun to try stuff on in VS and Aerie.
Also when I try on womenās jeans in the store I always ask other women how the jeans I have on look on me. Never had a negative reply there either. I did have one sales girl tell me the 12 looked better than the size 10 because it didnāt look as feminine (boot cut).

freedomofexpression, to answer your question about what brand I wear? For everyday wear I go with Walmart Canada's brand called George. I go with the cotton size L as I'm a 12 and they hold my gurls firmly in place. If I'm on date night or feely it I go with VS or La Ve On Rose for a nice lacey sexy feel. If I have too much bulge I just double up on my underwear to hold the tuck a little tighter.

So in reading about VPLās, I personally love VPLās on women and find them sexy on men too as long as it is a sexy panty. The muscle mate cheeky bikini will show that sexy panty line.
On another note, I am really happy I found the forum. Unfortunately I think the number of guys still wearing girls jeans has dropped due to the fact that they make guys skinny and super skinny jeans now. I have tried several pair on but still like girls jeans better.
